Monk In The Garden Monk was inspired by a trip to the Botanical Gardens in Singapore. I remember being struck by the image of a monk in saffron robes amidst the beautiful flowers and how he seem to fit right in and be a part of it. This painting is based on that memory. I tried to create a light and ethereal painting where the figure is also a part of the whole. Just as in Buddhist beliefs, we are not apart from all living things but part of one whole.
I take great care in the rolling, wrapping and packaging of all my canvases.
