An abstract painting inspired by local geology, mountains and their creation.
The Moine Thrust Belt is a linear geological feature in the Scottish Highlands running from the southern-most tip Isle of Skye to wild North East of the Sottish mainland - all within close reach of my studio and areas I love to spend time in. I have always been excited by the idea of these massive forces sculpting the landscape. The colours in the piece represent selected colours in the Highland landscape, selected specifically for their dramatic qualities.
