This original acrylic painting was done on location at Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, USA. Sprague Lake is one of my favorite places to hike around. On this particular day, my husband was with me. We arrived a few minutes after dawn. The colors of sunrise were spectacular that morning, and there was a fog bank covering the tops of these majestic mountains. It was quite breezy, but there were moments of intermittent calm, so I was able to capture some reflections in the water.
This piece was juried into the Colorado Plein Air Show held at the Denver Public Library from November 18, 2015 through January 3, 2016. It is has been beautifully custom framed.
