Near the southern border of Oklahoma is an ancient mountain range called the Arbuckles. They're so old (380 million years) that they aren't really mountains anymore, but we have our pride.
Have you ever been in a wilderness area that felt forbidding? There are plenty of wild things that could potentially kill you, but the Arbuckles feel comfortable to me, like its right where I belong.
This painting is done on a gallery wrapped canvas with the image continued on the sides. It is varnished and wired for hanging.
