Artist's description:

Figurative art is another theme I like working with because it portrays color on the face and body tones within the image.Indian figurative art inspires my work mainly because its vibrant colors and the shape of the body.
Getting the proportions and composition onto the page took plenty of time and effort. Making sure that every visual element of the figure was included on my page getting it structured correctly. This was drawn with Caran Dache colored pencils on canvas textured paper. I was amazed with every color simplicity used in every part of the image. The pink tones colored on the face turned out extremely well not applying that much detail. The body was kept simple with black and grey color shading giving the image a textured finish. The spaces in between the grey shading stood out well with the white. My use of color detail was enhanced more on the musical instrument. The colors really caught my attention on the instrument because of its traditional depth of color and detail combined together.
Overall I was impressed with the artwork it came out beautifully the way I intended it to be and the canvas textured paper I colored on worked with the image.
