Millport is the only town on the Isle of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde. In the 1900's Millport became a favourite tourist destination for thousands of holiday makers. Transport was provided by steam train and the magnificent paddle steamers sailing from Clyde coastal towns to provide the popular ' doon the water' experience.
