Another of my paintings in the Metropolis series. You could also see it as a pure abstract. It is colorful and looks good in our Victorian dining room. It would also suit a modern home I think.
After the background was painted and allowed to dry more paint was added in several colours, using a palette knife. A silicon-tipped brush was then used to make vertical lines. This reveals the color beneath and also transfers discrete amounts of paint from one colour to another, which adds to the overall effect.
The construction is canvas stretched over a wooden frame which is not visible. It is ready to hang.
Materials used:
