A sculptural piece which take the form of a see-through box on which memories of my first glimpse of the sea as a child are written in wave-like forms. This box can be used to frame views within the house or out of the window. Put a light in it and "former memories" or other writings shine through! This piece was inspired by recently working with people living with first stage dementia. This work led me to reflect on the strange workings of memory and how memories surface unbidden by the smallest of events (the smell of a sweet pea, the sight of a fabric, the sound of a bee at work). The artwork is experimental and is quite fragile and will come very carefully wrapped with it's own certificate of authenticity.
canvas, pen, glue.
