Artist's description:

Another Charcoal and Pencil drawing, illustrating in stark Black and White, a certain Melancholy that we all experience at times... Ukukele in hand, shoes discarded, this girl has been strumming the blues... An unfinished Drawing lies on the simple wooden chair, complimenting the checked pattern of the black and white floor. This piece was fun to do, in that it came about in layers... A piece of heavy black textured paper was mounted on a canvas, which I painted black. By painting the black paper a creamy- white, the canvas took on the role of a Frame... The image is done in pencil, charcoal, and acrylic paint, and a white charcoal pencil was used to draw the flowery Border, bringing the Black Border/ Frame to life... This piece is meant to be hung as is; without any further framing! The canvas is painted around the edges....
