Artist's description:

I painted this large, textural abstract as a response to the overwhelming and breathtakingly beautiful swathe of fresh, beautiful spring flowers bursting into life in the wildflower meadow next to our home when we lived in Italy.
These beautiful colours would bring a vibrancy and freshness to a room, looking equally striking against strong grey/blue walls or a pale background.
I have used many layers of acrylics and a type of plaster to achieve a depth of colour and a rough texture. There was a gentle breeze blowing through the field and I have tried to capture the movement of the grasses. Flowers included Mallows (shades of pink), Vetch (beautiful hues of deep green, purple and blue) Cornflowers (blue) Clovers (pinks and purples) Stitchwort (white) Cowparsley (white and fresh greens) Rapeseed (bright yellow) amongst many others.
