Artist's description:

One of my larger pieces, this work was created to experiment with the repetition of a form in contrast with the wildly varying details that fill each form.

Although each of the cross-shaped cells has a contrasting pattern or texture filling the space, the overall impression of the work is one of calm, the details allowing a form of contemplation - both while the work was being created and while viewing the finished piece.

Although these are surface textures, I feel that the use of shading has created the illusion of depth, which draws the eye into the work.

It is titled Maze as for me, working on these drawings is a form of working out my own thoughts and feelings at a given time. In this instance, finding my route out of a complex social situation.

The work is sold mounted but not framed.
