This painting follows a series of work I have created since 1994. Throughout my time as a painter I have always been fascinated by the construction of things, looking at the way we use scaffolding, build buildings, constructed reality and now how we construct the virtual world through the Interweb and computers.
This painting is a life long study into the way we construct images through the use of free-flowing marks and masking areas off, applying layers of paint to build up an image from its foundations. Initially this images began my fascination with layering which has continued through my practice as an artist for over 25 years.
