" Matriarch "... is from a new series of images entitled 'Endangered'. This photographic series of images comprises of stunning large mammals captured by Lindsay Robertson within a surreal environment, namely Lindsay's custom made portable studio set.

The image of the elephant 'Matriarch' is an original photograph. To achieve this image Lindsay worked closely with a Safari park in the UK. As ever great patience and respect toward the animal was needed as there is a 'no hands on' approach to animals within the park.

Lindsay sets out to challenge our perception of how we see animals within an environment. His images of these animals are created in the surreal surrounding of the studio. The starkness and scale of the background places the animals within a perspective which seems unreal. Coupled with skilful lighting his work portrays these amazing animals as they are not usually seen. To be able to study and appreciate the detail, textures and character of the animals is what Lindsay strives to achieve.

Each black and white fine art hand made print is a signed original chromogenic photographic print (traditional C-type print - not inkjet). The image size is 38" x 28" printed onto 40"x30" paper, the signature is placed bottom right within the white border.
