I am interested in the 25 millennia of human history, of human beings leaving their ‘marks’ behind them, notably the anonymous hand prints left deep within subterranean caves – from hands that could have contained a genetic blueprint for you or me.
In ‘Matins 2’, the 2 collaged hands reference this interest. The colours used on the oil on card background were muted to give a contemplative feel to the work, as indicated in the title.
The piece was then glazed to prevent damage or dust affecting the surface and contained in a plain 3 cm flat white wooden frame, ready to hang. 71x67x2cm
