I feel most fortunate to have met Baroness Thatcher in 1987 and this portrait is my recollection of the challenging look she gave me that day. I have tried to capture in the right eye (from viewer's perspective) a penetrating gaze that looks deep into the soul - she is a discerning, demanding and determined leader. In the left eye the extreme self-confidence and pride but not tipping into arrogance. As a complete composition, she is asking, "Are you with me?"
