Artist's description:

In Hawaii, where I spent most of my life (and in many other tropical parts of the world as well), mango season means the mango trees get so heavy with fruit that you need to be proactive about harvesting some. One of the ways you do this is with a long pole equipped with a clipper and a cloth bag at one end. This is the mango harvesting device being wielded by the young male nude in this painting. You don't usually harvest mangoes nude; but wouldn't it be more interesting if we did?
