Original artwork description:
Portland, Oregon - home of all things Portlandia, and bohemia - is actually at it's heart a delightfully low rent kind of place. I made this painting - of a grown man on a pink girl's bike - after seeing it several times on the city streets. One of my collectors, who has grown up in the area, says "Yeah, I saw it too. I figure they lost their license in a DUI, and this is the only ride they can score."
Enough said!
This particularly painting is part of my unstretched series, when I wanted to incorporate the rough edges of the painting (usually stretched over frame edge onto the sides) into the work itself. I worked on unstretched canvas, glued it to board, and built a custom frame around it. All included in the price, of course.
