Artist's description:
Maisy was inspired by a poem written by my good friend, Annie Oldroyd. It is about a little girl, who adores her bulldog, despite others not seeing her beauty. I loved the way Annie focused in on her face throughout the poem. "A face where nose and mouth scrunch up above a stubborn chin". Through the poem, I felt like I new Maisy, and through painting all the creases and folds I became so fond of her I could almost be the girl in the poem!
Maisy is a mixed media piece, using tissue paper, charcoal, watercolour paint, acrylic paint, and soft pastels combined together. I painted her muzzle onto brown tissue, which I then screwed up in my hands. I then used charcoal to pick up all the creases in the paper.
All materials used are archival, including the glue to attach the tissue to the good quality 300gsm watercolour paper. You will receive Maisy framed and signed, with a certificate of authenticity. She has been professionally framed in a good quality light oak frame that compliments her fur.
I will carefully and lovingly pack Maisy, incorporating bubblewrap and cardboard before shipping using a reputable courier. I ship internationally, however if, when completing your purchase, your destination does not appear on the shipping table then please message me and will be happy to get you a quote.
