Artist's description:

this is a 54 inch tall scroll painted japanese rinpa style. from my ongoing series of coastal nature. it looks even better in person as i've used various metallic pigments, which come to life as you and the light moves. traditionally scrolls were vehicles for displaying calligraphy/painting, capturing a feeling of nature/an idea, to be hung to set a mood, & changed often to match an occasion/season. my reinvention of japanese "kakejiku" (hanging or wall scroll) are on synthetic material similar in appearance to rice paper, but stronger, waterproof & tear-resistant, and framed, ie, hung on anodized aluminium rods along the top & bottom edges

arrives rolled and with one small nail for easy hanging.

Materials used:

golden acrylics, fiber

maine rocks 4 (2016)
