Artist's description:

Events in places near and far over the past few years have filled news outlets with images of destruction, both natural and man-made. Just as a volcano might inspire awe, so occasionally, if taken out of context, some of these images offer a strange abstract beauty as I found when I painted several views of the flooding in Somerset, close to where I grew up. In this painting a calm sunset silhouettes the broken structures of a once bustling high street in Libya, a still lake reflects soft hues of pink and blue. Quiet and abandoned to violent folly, I found the image irresistible, employing many light washes, contrasting with dark voids.

All paintings are wrapped and packed in robust card and posted
within one working day in the UK, slightly longer internationally.
