Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

Have you ever sat by a window and watched the rain drops start to stick and then join together in little rivers down to the bottom? Imagine that raindrops were magnetic, and they stuck where they fell, even more so than snow. You'd have the same calming effect, but layer upon layer of beautiful colours building up as the rain increased.

This artwork has been created as a limited edition of just 8 plus an artist's proof.

It is printed on brushed aluminium, with an aluminium subframe on the back, and sealed with a thin acrylic layer on the front in order to preserve the colours and texture, and making the artwork fade-proof and easy to clean. It is remarkably light-weight and also very easy to hang, and stands a couple of centimetres away from the wall.

This artwork would benefit from being placed near natural daylight, or being illuminated by artificial light. The unique reflective quality of the underlying metal saturates the colours and creates an incredible 'bounceback' of colour and texture, which create almost a 3D effect when seen with the benefit of light.

Materials used:

Brushed aluminium on the base, sealed with a layer of acrylic on top
