Artist's description:

A selection of images from the American Southwest: an American Indian shaman of a coyote, combined with a human, hands and a snarling dog. In this painting the dogmen seem to be emerging from the breast of the human-coyote. The theme of hybrid symbols is carried in the history of mankind from prehistoric cave paintings, through Egyptian sphinx and onto Modern art with Picasso and other artists that have employed human with animal forms. A frame is not needed because the edge of the canvas has a half inch silver painted border.

Materials used:

oil and oilstick
