Artist's description:

Mab, the queen of the fairies, appears in much literature from Chaucer to Shakespeare. She can both benevolent and capricious. My favourite portrayal of her was in the television film, 'Merlin', by Miranda Richardson. Her performance inspired me to create this portrait of Mab. I love the notion of elementals and the supernatural, going about their lives, our own lives irrelevant to them. Mab is ancient, part of the earth and sky, rocks and trees. Hence her multi coloured face, representing a bit of all these components that make her. . . .
