Mental places, imagined territories on the border between reality and fiction. The combination of bodies, shapes, colors and spaces, in an evocative landscape with the presence of a female body in a surreal scene.
Ezio Ranaldi sets out to represent woman in her complexity, the victim of a destiny she did not choose. The MOON is its guarantor and witness. The moon, shining and silent guardian, next to women's bodies. The moon, maternal feminine archetype par excellence, is symbolically connected to biological rhythms, water, tides, female cycles. The lunar feminine is mysterious and ambiguous; it has the divine power to see beyond.
If the dominant theme is the female nude, this in turn is reproduced in various attitudes suggesting voluptuousness, transposition of the desire for possession from reality into thought, a source of perpetual remembrance for all that has been loved and greedily desired.
The moon next to the female body represents one's hidden world. The moon is the soul, it is our way of experiencing emotions, desires, dreams.
The female body is the medium by which the artist expresses that desired stillness that results in the catharsis of art. Surprising effects, chiaroscuro tones increasingly sought after, unique. Female bodies, with increasingly refined poses, giving rise to images belonging to the strand of pop art through masterful elaborations. Representing his own hidden world, merging real and surreal world, dream and evanescent reality, shapes and colors that enhance light and shadow, perspective and geometric space.
