Artist's description:

Hana Shoup builds tactile surfaces on her canvas by repeating a process of accident, layering, and removal. First, she lays the canvas on the floor and pours her paint, letting it splatter and pool on the canvas. After waiting for it to harden and crack, she contributes her own story by adding layers with brushes and hands, or by ripping, cutting, and removing layers. She continues the process until she is satisfied with the compelling mixture of form, color, and texture.
