Llara - Flowing and colourful.
Llara is a more ‘linear’ painting. She communicates waves crashing onto land, to me. I don’t often look for familiar objects or scenes in my work, preferring to focus on the colour and random shapes. Whenever I look at Llara however, I see waves and temperature maps.
I used lots of different colours and broke them up with the some interjections of black and white. I love how black and it’s ‘finality’ can be so powerful. There are plenty of smaller details to keep you absorbed in Llara too.
She is a fairly large piece, at 100 x 80 cm, with a thick edge of 4.5cm. ‘Llara’ has 13 different colours and so goes with pretty much everything. I have signed her on the back, so that she can be hung at any orientation.
