Artist's description:

Cats were considered sacred in ancient Egypt. Wealthy families dressed them in jewels. When the cats died, they were mummified. As a sign of mourning, the cat owners shaved off their eyebrows and continued to mourn until their eyebrows grew back. Cats were so special that those who killed them were sentenced to death.

The Cat Goddess Bastet is representing protection, fertility, and motherhood. Call upon her when in danger and need of protection or when you would bring passion into your life.

Cat necklace is covered with 24K gold. The surface of the painting is aged to create a vintage effect.

-Finished with gloss varnish
-Signed on the back
-Sides are painted so there is no need for framing.
