This little 'Listening Hare' original drawing is 145mm x 145mm in size. He sits patiently on hand stained paper which gives him an aged appearance like an old calico toy. 'Listening Hare' has been drawn in pencil and ink. Texture and detail has then been added with the skinniest of pen nibs which creates lots of detail to look at close up. I love to experiment with abstract shape and pattern within a drawing and my imagination meanders in a happy way as I draw using words to tell a small tale within the drawing. This little hare has his ears primed to hear the voice of the one he loves. His wide eyes tell how keen he is to hear her, sitting stock still, listening.
'Listening Hare' displays characteristics of human behaviour that we can all identify with. He could be you, me or anyone of your family or friends...He's in love and awaits the sound of the voice he loves.
