Artist's description:

I am thinking about sea creatures. And they're pretty exotic. I have a bunch of goldfish, but that's about as nautical I can get! At any rate, I was looking at various fish and sea creatures and thought they would be a good subject to study during these long, gray winters.

I started with the octopus. That was fun. What a weird creature!! I loved drawing it and creating odd patterns. Then, I saw the lionfish and was really curious if I could recreate those strange designs. I like how it came out. It's really an invasive fish. But it's certainly quite striking!!

Materials used:

linoleum, oil-based ink, Strathmore paper
