Artist's description:

I am working on a new body of work , playing with new materials and exploring different icon references - as I am Visting New York next month to do some research the Statue of Liberty seemed fitting!

By taking iconic monuments or recognizable imagery and exploring them in partial deterioration I am questioning what we know to be permanent in structure and yet may not be so.

The physical changes in iconic monuments and the climatic changes all confront the unity of human nature both past and present.
It has become apparent that war and climate irregularity are the constant: the effects of our humanity and inhumanity on our environment our unavoidable.

It is my aim to investigate the obscure and vulnerable elements of the most indomitable cities in the world and reveal the beauty and irony within its scars.

Materials used:

gold leaf, acrylic, pen
