Dreaming of summer and golden sands and holidays on the beach? Dreaming of a world away from the working week? Remembering the spade and bucket, and the walks along the coast? Thinking of the place where the sea comes in and that castle on the beach? Thinking of wriggling your toes in the warm sand and the thousand shrieks as the tide comes in?
This is my Ode to summer. If like me, you are mourning the loss of summer days, and the carefree beach holidays, then here is a charming little linocut for you to relive those memories and raise a smile. The colourful beach huts, the wind waving the clothes on the line and the flags, and the waves crashing against the rocks. What better view could there be?
The linoprint is handmade from my original sketches and design and handprinted at home. It is a small edition of five, made in deep purple and printed with oil-based inks on smooth Zerkall printing paper. A coloured version of this is also available. I have added a photo of the hand coloured version. If this is what 'rocks your boat' (pun intended!!) then let me know when your place your order, and I would be delighted to create this for you using permanent inks.
I will send a certificate of authentication, and pack it in a tissue paper and flat in a hardback envelope so that it arrives safely in perfect condition. It will be sent unframed but will fit any standard off the shelf frame. Both a white or a black frame would complement it well.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
