Artist's description:

On a dull late autumn afternoon, and I mean really overcast we stopped to have a late lunch/snack close to a fast flowing feeder beck to Agden Reservoir near Sheffield. Despite the overcast sky it was really peaceful and serene and what's more some really kind person had placed a wooden bench there for us to tuck in to our tucker! Out came the flask of scalding hot tea which my wife has a real knack of getting it to taste perfect with a bread roll.

After lunch we had decided to take advantage of the overcast conditions and take some flowing water shots. I normally use neutral density filters to slow the rate of light acquisition but it wasn't necessary on this semi-dark afternoon.

I really struggled with the tripod on the steep bank above the rivulet, taking a good 10 minutes before it was sturdy enough not to tumble down the bank into the drink when it was fitted with the camera.

The surrounding colours were really dull and I new from that point it was going to be a black and white composition. I worked 3 or 4 shots and what you see here is the best of them. I don't normally like to give water too much of a milky solid looking mass with a long exposure but as everything else was so still I felt it needed it. I think the result is a very serene shot with atmosphere; it certainly felt very relaxing at the time. When you look at the final result you need to know that the white-noise from the water was fairly prominent, so try and imagine that sound when contemplating sending your worries away under the bridge.

As usual, the print runs are limited to 10 and each print will have its own coded and signed Certificate of Authenticity.

We hope you like it!
Kindest regards
