This time last year I was in Paris. I can’t believe an entire year has gone by since that trip!!

This year I’ve been in New York City. It was my first time there and I loved it! I loved the hustle and bustle of the city–it felt awake! I found myself pushing through the crowd without any intimidation or fear. I joined the movement of humanity on to the subway, into the theater and through the various stores. I felt the excitement, the thrill of what was happening around me.

I’ve been using fabric and paper in my latest work. This one was inspired by the Paris map that is showing through in the top half of the painting. As I looked at the map, I could feel the movement of the people and the excitement I felt when I was there.
