Artist's description:

This artwork is expressing one of the fundamental basic needs of human beings: Liberty. Who is not thinking sometimes that his opportunities, capabilities and possibilities are limited or restricted?
Who is sometimes not afraid about that what other people are thinking if he is living "his truth"?
The message that is communicated by this artwork is that we should live our life and not that of the others.
The inspiration of this painting was Jean Paul Sartre with his oeuvre "Huis clos" who shows perfectly what happens, if we make us dependent on the others. Life becomes a hell. Sartre expressed this with the famous sentence: "L'enfer c'est les autres!" ("Hell is other people!")
