Artist's description:

Leona is a fanciful collage of a magical woman in a tropical rain forest.

The original inspiration was that I wanted to do a lion's mane of thick flowing hair with beads. I wanted to make the meander lines flowing down.

At that time, a current "Game of Thrones" episode had Jon Snow making a racist comment! I was appalled! He was assigning one of the men to clean the latrines and he said that that was a fitting job for a "ginger" which is a derogatory term for a red headed person...(besides being horrified that GoT would make a slur like that, the modernity and real-world dialog made me cringe a little.)

Well, ginger this, GoT!! Leona's hair color was decided! She would have luxurious flowing flaming red hair.

We have two large lovely Mexican ceramic flower pots flanking our front steps. Sadly, they are crumbling. The change of seasons makes them crack every year and little bits fall off. Well, being the insane person in the family that collects this stuff, I did of course. I see value in things normal people throw away. So Leona's dress is formed from these little chips and shards of ceramic pottery, with beaded grout lines.
