The elephant, a symbol of spiritual guidance, is an image that accompanies us in our existence, right from childhood. Elephants are capable of crying, Darwin says, of making friends and of coming close to listen to humans singing in the savannah. There is mystery in the elephant and often its image comes to meet us in dreams. In the surprised and dreamy face of a young woman I saw the unexpected and amused encounter with a young elephant, an imagined encounter.
