Artist's description:

I was in the beginning process of this painting when I was photographed for an article in the local paper. The unfinished painting was behind me on the front page of the Lifestyle section. The article was for an upcoming show. At the show I had a woman come in and want to buy the painting. But I had not brought the painting to the show since it was unfinished. So I went home to try and quickly finish the piece to sell to the woman. In my haste I did a few things I didn’t like. It took a few coats and alterations to fix those things. Then I just felt like the painting was not done. It sat on my wall for months, begging for something else. So one day I decided to just paint white stripes on it. And I loved it! It gives the painting a depth I was failing to find.
