Here is probably one of the most beautiful scenic views of the Aquitaine coast, and most precisely of the Basque coast and country. Located at Biarritz, the Rock of the Virgin Mary progress like a ship towards the Atlantic Ocean.
Walk on the footbridge to reach this huge piece of rock is quite an experience by itself, especially in winter when the wind can be strong and with the power of the waves crashing against the Rock. In extreme conditions, the access is even prohibited.
This pointillism artwork is based on a photo I have taken in winter, during a beautiful sunny day, while going to visit the Museum of the Sea.
Technique of a great beauty and finesse, the Pointillism also requests some step back and above all some patience. This justifies the price of such a realization.
To give a better idea, let's take an average of 50 dots / cm² or 322,5 dots / in² (=6,45cm²).
Therefore, on an average size of 30x20cm (11,8x7,9'in) or 600cm² (93,2in²), this represents an average, in inches, of 93,2x322,5=30000 dots.
