Artist's description:

As you have probably realised I collect all sorts of things made of paper, the older and more unusual the better. I get very excited when I find a gem and both Friendship and Laughter are based on two very old gems, calligraphy documents that both date from the 1700's.

As the originals are so old and beautiful in their own right (and I'm guessing pretty rare)
I didn't want to paint directly upon them, instead I scanned them and cleaned them up a little to make them look fresh and contemporary. Meanwhile I painted my penguins onto watercolour paper and then digitally combined the calligraphy document and a scan of my painting.
The result is this Limited Edition print.

The wonderful typography in the background extols the virtues of laughter in beautiful, old fashioned English. A very unusual artwork indeed that will hopefully make you smile or even laugh!

I have mounted both prints in a double mount, with a soft white top layer combined with a black bottom layer. The black detailing really sets the artwork off.
Signed and numbered on the print the mount will fit a standard 30cm x 40cm frame and will be carefully wrapped and presented ready to gift, or keep!

This print can also be bought FRAMED for FREE UK Mainland Delivery Only. Please have a look at my other listings for the framed option.
