Original artwork description:

Large square format portrait of a man smiling disrupted by the words NO SIGNAL and a ginger pot suggesting an urn for ashes of the deceased. Laughing in church, especially during a funeral, suggests a release of repressed feelings. The presence of language can perhaps signify some handle on accessing the meaning of the art but in this case the choice of words was arbitrary and intended to open interpretation rather than seal it. Predominantly monochromatic in black and white and blue with brightly colored lettering in pink, orange, green and yellow.

Materials used:

oil on linen
