Artist's description:

Painting: Collage, Oil, Sand, cold wax medium, oil paint, pigment powder and marble dust on canvas.

Size: 41 H x 41 W x 4 cm

This painting has been created using a cold wax medium on a high quality canvas stretcher.

Natural ochres and oxides conjure the colour yellow. In ancient Egypt, during the new Kingdom, the color was derived from orpiment (arsenic trisulphide).

Both the sun and gold were yellow and shared the qualities of being imperishable, eternal and indestructible. The skin and bones of the gods were believed to be made of gold. Statues of gods were often made of, or plated with gold. Mummy masks and sarcophagi of the pharoahs were often made of gold................a world of divine beings with golden skin.

This deep edge painting does not require framing and is ready to hang with white edges.

Keywords: yellow, gold, blue, cold wax, abstraction.
