This landscape painting of a wild pony walking in the misty dawn was inspired by the Welsh Hills at dawn, the rays of the rising sun illuminating the sky with shades of red and yellow and the mists rising from the valleys. The style
owes much to expressionism and fauvism,the surface of the canvas is built up by reworking the paint ,leaning towards abstraction, layering and sometimes scraping the paint, the main interest here is the relationship between one color and another , evoking hopefully the spirit of the place
