In a series of photographs that began to emerge during the autumn of last year, I departed from the portrait genre which I have long been concerned about. Intuitively I started looking for themes that would unite visual simplicity with my personal experiences and freedom from the description of reality. In the repertoire of misty, monochrome landscapes, I conceived the art idea and psychology of a place as one organic whole in which men find time for themselves, their decisions and behavior. Views of nature motifs chosen intentionally from the midst of my native region will vary not only according to personal stories and insights relating to the captured moment and my being at that time, but also because of the tension which expands through the ties and questions of a man towards the countryside and to what extent it is indispensable for our perception and feelings. Dreamy, misty and abstracting images of landscape, in which human presence is very rare, I perceive as a necessary path for the wonderful perfection of “Life” which cannot be arranged or taken for granted, but we may be lucky enough to spend a moment and to catch one tiny bit of it all.
