The painting process balances control and natural. I allow the paints to move freely on the canvas, and by controlling the fluidity of the paints, tilting the canvas, removing the paints, and other process, I gain certain control over the creative process. And this process was repeated for several times until aesthetically the paints are harmonised.
Because of the natural formation of the paints, and the mark making process, it resembles the natural formation of landscape. When inspect closely, the resemblance of landscape disappears, and is left with layers and layers of abstract colours and marks.
The idea of the painting is to capture the mutual existence of nature and human, an ancient philosophy in China that suggested morally and aesthetically human is part of the nature.
