Landscape is an interesting word which entered the English language around the 5th century. Although in the 16th century it began to be used in art to denote a painting about natural scenery the word Landscape actually means so much more.
Like this painting it has many possible facets and the longer you contemplate it the more you will find. Think Nature,all of it, rocks,strata,water,earth,trees,tree rings…….
On the back of my work I tend to write details such as Dimensions, when Created, Materials, my Name and then Sign it. This is in addition to signing the work on the front.
