Artist's description:

There are still some cute social traditions left in France. One is the way even though everyone has dishwashers, after dinner there is a big gang clustered around the kitchen sink with one washing and a big friendly gang drying the dishes, I was in this painting originally on the right but the composition just wasn't working so the 2 sisters are left on either side with the best friend in the middle. there is more going on than the apparently simple activity of la Vaisselle it is a connecting social ritual in a society where more and more people are cut off from each other.

A thin layer of varnish protects the artwork against UV light and dust.
