Artist's description:

From my large rhythmic cubism series. Since I don't have a lot of storage space and I have a desire to create large paintings, I just hang a big piece of canvas on the wall and then roll it up for storage. I love to paint all sizes but the large because it feels like I'm in the painting as I'm painting.
So this one is all about the mystery of the lifespan of a butterfly, they fascinate me, they start out an ugly caterpillar, than become a cocoon, then break out as a beautiful, magical creature. It's a total miracle. The lifespan is generally about a month.
Oil on canvas, shipped in a tube, it will need to be stretched to hang it. Most frame shops can do this. The actual size is 54x76 so if stretched on 1.5" edge bars, stapled on the back the size will be 48x70x1.5

Materials used:

canvas, oil paint, varnish
