Artist's description:

A portrait of a Kirkland's warbler in soft pastel on paper. Also known as jack pine warbler. These little guys are dependent on wildfires to provide the small trees and open areas that meet their rigid habitat requirements for nesting. They were almost forced to extinction when forest fires were considered bad. Now they are on their way to recovery as scientists and wild fire mitigation experts find ways to control burn and live with natural occurring wild fires.
This drawing is 8 inches tall and 12 inches wide, however it can be cut down to fit a standard 11x14 mat with 8x10 opening. It is available unframed, and will ship flat.
Colors vary from screen to screen. This drawing was made using cold grays, black and lemon yellow. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about colors or would like to see more pictures.
