Artist's description:

I was commissioned by a gentleman who was born in Kirkham, UK to paint a picture of St Michael's Church. Lowry had made a drawing of the location in 1925. My client would have been somewhat critical of Lowry's sketch as he was a mathematician and a perfectionist regarding proportion. I took photographs and made sketches of the building and during my research I walked around the area and came across this old bridge which carries the railway line from Lytham to Preston. I decided to make the scene a background for this composition of , what I imagined , my client playing football with his mates back in his childhood. He spends half his year in Arizona . I hope he's on Artfinder.
