Artist's description:

A king Fisher is glimpsed while in flight catching and dropping a small fish. The sheen on the scales of the fish are applied using metallic acrylic paints. The background has several layers of water colour paint and the birds have their wings drawn using pastel pencils. The image focuses on a single bird who is in motion. The theme of movement originates from the futurist style of the last century. The idea is that it is almost like a sequence of photographs applied in one painting. The feeling the image conveys is of a quiet and peaceful place with a few seconds of motion captured in time.
